The LPD Doors story

In 1981 our founder James Gordon spotted an opportunity. Landline phone in hand, he started buying and selling plywood and doors. His office was the living room of a busy family home. A hard-working man with a clear vision for LPD’s future, his determination and tenacity enabled LPD to grow from a small family run business into one of the industry’s largest and most trusted names.

 

Fast forward to 2024, and after several premises moves, significant increases to the breadth of our door lines, the addition of furniture ranges and creation of an in-house logistics service LPD’s presence is integral to the industry.

 

After joining the business over 20 years ago, (Having worked within the business for 15 years), James’s son, Stuart Gordon, was the natural fit to take over the helm in 2017.

 

Alongside a strong senior management team, Stuart has continued to add to the growth of LPD, focusing on innovation, strong marketing, strengthening customer relationships as well as adding new key customers. Our UK team is now over 240 experienced employees, bolstered by a support network strategically placed in key global locations across the world.

 

That committed, dedicated, and experienced team has helped LPD Doors reach a nationwide audience, develop new directions and respond to consumer needs in a rapidly paced and continually evolving industry.
